Are the words you speak positive, encouraging, inspirational, and full of faith, or are they negative, hurtful, or full of doubt?  Proverbs 18:21 tells us there is power in the words we speak, it reads, The tongue can speak words that bring life or death. Those who love to talk must be ready to accept what it brings.”

I speak for myself when I say that I’ve said things that have hurt people’s feelings, started fights, became gossip, and ended relationships.

Can you relate?

LIFE OR DEATH

“In every encounter we either give life or we drain it; there is no neutral exchange.” —Brennan Manning

The words we speak have more power then we may realize; they can unite or divide people, restore or separate marriages and families, build or destroy self-confidence, inspire people to pursue their dreams or literally keep them from moving forward in life.

SPEAK OUT IN FAITH

God gave words creative power as He spoke the universe into existence.  He gave you and I the same power through faith to speak things into existence.  Through faith we can speak to the mountains in our lives and they will move.  Matthew 17:20 reads, “…If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”  Activate your faith, began to speak out your dreams and the vision God has given you.

SPEAK OVER YOUR LIFE

“The words you speak into the lives of others will come from an overflow of what you are speaking into your own life” —Dan Chavez

Before we can speak into the lives of others we need to develop the habit of speaking over our own life.  Speak words of thankfulness, belief, and declaration over your spiritual life, your future, your family, and your finances.  Speak positive affirming words over your attitude toward life, your present circumstance, your self-esteem, your self-confidence and belief in yourself.  Here’s a link to a previous post I wrote on positive affirmations.  Improve Your Self-Confidence Through Positive Affirmations

SPEAK HOPE, LOVE, AND LIFE

“We rise by lifting others.” —Robert Ingersoll

Use your words to inspire the people around you, transmitting positive energy and adding value to their life as well as yours.  Look for opportunities to spot the potential in others and tell them.  Your words can turn hearts when you speak hope, love, and life.  There are people in your life that need to know that there is still hope and only you have the ability to reach them.  I challenge you to speak life with the words you say.  Try complimenting at least three people every day this week and begin to see the impact it has on them as well as the difference it makes in you.

My prayer is that we begin to use our words to speak hope, love, and life to the people around us.

From The Heart, Dan Chavez
