“Life’s troubles are a tool God uses to grow our faith in Him.” -Dan Chavez
Our culture has become accustomed to looking at life’s problems as burdens. Our habitual default reaction to problems is to avoid them at all cost. As we all know avoiding a problem only makes it worse. If we took the time to observe our lives we may discover layer upon layer of unresolved problems, hurts, losses, failures, fears, insecurities etc. This compilation of unresolved problems cripples us from experiencing true freedom in Christ.
What if we could go from a “Life Happens To Me” mentality to a “Life Happens For Me” mentality? Would that change our perspective towards the problems of life?
Here is what’s at stake when we don’t accept this Truth in life. Many of us will risk living our entire lives enslaved to the unresolved problems and losses of life when in reality God allowed them in our lives to grow and advance us and ultimately to draw us closer to Him.
When we finally accepted this Truth, then we could begin to see life and its troubles the way God intended us to see them, as tools He uses to test and stretch our faith in Him and developed in us perseverance.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”James 1:2-4
