In a special part of the Bible called Psalms, King David asked God for something important. He said, “Make my heart clean, God. Having a clean heart is really important in the Christian faith. It’s like starting a friendship with Jesus. It tells everyone that you’re devoted to God and helps you change into a better person inside. When we say sorry for our mistakes, it’s a big moment that resets our faith journey. It’s like cleaning up and starting fresh, so we can follow what God wants for us.

Psalm 51 was written by King David when he did something very wrong. He made a big mistake by doing something he shouldn’t have with someone named Bathsheba. Then, he made it worse by hurting her husband Uriah. Even though he did something really bad, David asked God for a clean heart and a strong spirit. This shows that everyone needs forgiveness and a fresh start when they do something wrong.
