We all face times of complete silence where we feel that God is absent in our day-to-day routine.  We are left wondering if maybe we have lost our passion for God or if we are just going through the motions.

fall apart

These times may be difficult for us and may cause frustration and doubt to arise in our hearts, but they can also drive us to our knees in search of answers.  We can choose to let these times of silence discourage us or we can continue trusting that God is in control and keep holding on.

The Silent Treatment

“God’s silence in our lives may be the result of our readiness to listen.” —Dan Chavez

This silence in our lives doesn’t mean God is absent.  God desires to have an intimate relationship with us and wants to be apart of our everyday lives.  Have you ever stopped to consider that God may be trying to say something without saying anything at all.  James 4:8 lays it out pretty bluntly, it says;  “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.  Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.”

A Heart Exam

There are a number of things that can hinder our prayers.  I truly believe that sin tops the list.  Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your sinful acts have alienated you from your God; your sins have caused Him to reject you and not listen to your prayers.”   Sin can easily build a wall between us and God resulting in us missing out on God’s favor, protection, and answers to prayer.

A Humble Heart

“The proud man goes through life blinded to the truth of his own reality, wondering why his prayers don’t avail much.” —Dan Chavez

To truly ever have an intimate relationship with God a humble heart is vital.  A humble heart is willing to admit to failure and sin, it keeps us running back to God because we depend on Him and is willing to obey and takes the role of a servant.  James 4:6 says, “God opposes the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.”

Sacrifice Of Praise

“Your sacrifice of Praise will open the flood gates of Heaven allowing your breakthrough to become a reality.” —Dan Chavez

Our praise can bring forth changes in our atmosphere.  When we Praise God we allow Him into our circumstances.  Praise will bring freedom to our lives and gives us power to break through spiritual chains that may be holding us down.  It’s easy to Praise God when everything is going good, but it’s in the heat of the moment were we need to force ourselves to Praise.  (Sacrifice Of Praise.)  In times of trial and adversity our Praise will trigger a response from God.

It’s pretty simple, no Praise, no rain.

My Prayer is that we would examine our hearts from day-to-day and ask God to keep us humble.

From The Heart, Dan Chavez

I love this post!! God always speaks. He always answers our prayers and responds to our needs. Sometimes silence is the answer we need at the moment. Silence allows us to reflect on our current situation. Only when we reflect on things we really see them as they truly are. I was very impressed with your quotes. They are great quotes! I will add them to my collection. Keep up the good work!

    1. “Silence allows us to reflect on our current situation.” Very well said! It’s true, the silence helped me to see the importance of a humble heart. Thanks for the comment JC Witness Owl!

  2. Trust me I enjoyed your video too! I just like proving the point that there is a song for literally everything, even peanut butter and jelly 🙂

    1. So true.. When ever I hear a good song I write it down to possibly accompany a blog.. Have a great Sunday!

  3. Praise can change a someone’s attitude towards you, so imagine what praise can do from God, and besides isn’t it our purpose to praise and worship our creator. Here’s a video for you “Going through the motions”
