It’s easy to get caught up in our cultures view of success, only to get there and find ourselves wanting more.
I’m sad to say that I’ve fallen into this pattern. It has crossed the border of my carnal desires into the intimacy of my prayers. Instead of just embracing God’s presence, I’ve focused my prayers on declarations of promotion, increase, and advancement over my life and family. I believe in the power of faith and speaking such things into existence, but it has become the primary focus of my prayers. Now I see that all along I have been missing it.
Forgive me Jesus. I traded my desire for more of You in pursuit of earthly things. Strip away my false mentality of success. I realize that You are all I need and that nothing else will ever truly satisfy.
“You satisfy me more than the richest feast..” Psalm 63:5
