JUST BE YOU

“Competition will distract you from your calling putting your attention on others, rather than on God and His plan for your life.” — Dan Chavez

We often try to measure up to the standards of acceptance and success in our competitive culture.  Often wondering if we’re keeping up with the fades, trends and hot topics!  This mentality can contaminate our uniqueness, and detour us from being who God designed us to be.

“To covet what others have or who they are is like telling God that we aren’t happy with the unique way He made us.” — Dan Chavez

Take a moment Today to realize that no one in this world is exactly like you, or even shares your fingerprint.  If God took the time to make you different, then why would you try to change that.

Lord, in this culture of competition, help us to fix our eyes on You.  Begin to show us our unique traits as we embrace who You created us to be.

“God created humankind in His own image…” Genesis 1:27

  1. Wow! I LOVE this post!!! I am experiencing this exact thing in my life right now! God has been reminding me in small ways here and there that it is not about me, but about Him. I am learning to refocus my attention on the Cross, rather than on other people’s perspective of me.
